This article outlines the testing procedure for RenewalsAI during your EliseAI Onboarding Phase. This procedure ensures that RenewalsAI Outreach works appropriately and consistently for all your residents.
RenewalsAI Testing Procedure
Work with your EliseAI implementation team to complete the following Renewals testing steps:
- Add test residents to a building in your external PMS.
- Select several members of your team to serve as test residents.
- Use unique, made-up names for the test residents. Double check that you do not use the names of real residents.
- Assign these team members' phone numbers and email addresses to the test residents. This allows your team members to receive and verify maintenance messages once initial outreach begins.
- In your PMS, generate renewal offers that end in 60 days for the test residents.
- Please assign the offer "Approved" status
- If you create the offer mid-day, it will sync to EliseAI the next day.
- Inform your CSM that you have created these renewal offers and send them your test resident information. Our team manually syncs this data to our system.
- Your AI Assistant sends its initial renewal offer messages to your test residents.
- Wait four days. Check that your AI Assistant sends follow-up messages four days after the initial offer message.
- Submit messages and questions to test your AI Assistant. See the section below for common test messages.
Offer Acceptance Test
- Respond to the AI by selecting a renewal offer.
- Or, select an offer in the Resident Renewals Portal, if you have set this up.

Check that the AI generates a Generate Lease Renewal task in the AI Portal's Tasks Page.
- Create a renewal offer lease in your PMS.
- Click Mark As Done on the Generate Lease Renewal task.
- If you are using the renewals portal, you can view the selected offer here.
Offer Decline Test
- Respond to the AI by declining all renewal offers.

Check that the AI generates a Notice to Vacate task in the AI Portal's Tasks Page.
- Complete the rest of the NTV workflow in your PMS.
- Mark the NTV task as complete by selecting a reason, then clicking "Confirm."
Test VoiceAI for Renewals
If your organization plans to use VoiceAI for renewals, you can test your VoiceAI Assistant by calling your EliseAI vanity numbers or designated property numbers.
Complete VoiceAI setup before conducting any tests. See the following articles for instructions on VoiceAI setup.
Once you complete setup, call the number for each community launched on VoiceAI. You can ask questions listed in the Common Resident Messages section.
You can also test your AI Assistant's ability to transfer calls. See the section below for instructions.
Test VoiceAI Transfers
Follow the steps below to test VoiceAI transfers to your resident team.
During Office Hours:
- Call the VoiceAI number.
- Tell your AI Assistant that you would like to speak with a representative.
- When the AI Assistant asks what you are calling about, respond with one of the resident team's responsibilities, such as lease renewal.
- Confirm that the AI offers to transfer you and calls the correct number.
After Office Hours:
- Call the VoiceAI number.
- Tell your AI Assistant that you would like to speak with a representative.
- When the AI Assistant asks what you are calling about, respond with one of the resident team's responsibilities, such as lease renewal.
- Confirm that the AI offers to take a message.
- Navigate to your AI Portal's Tasks page. Check that your AI Assistant created a Call Back task for the call you placed.
Common Resident Messages for Testing
This section lists common resident messages and questions to test on your RenewalsAI Assistant. The specific answers provided by your AI Assistant may depend on your organization's Renewals Settings and Knowledge Base.
