What is it?
An EIN (Employer Identification Number) is a unique nine-digit number assigned by the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) to businesses, nonprofits, and other entities operating in the U.S. It's most commonly used to identify the tax accounts of employers.
Why is it needed?
Given that an EIN is a unique, government-issued identification, it is often used by service providers as a means of authentication for business accounts.
As an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) acting on your behalf, EliseAI requires registering your profile with Twilio, our telecommunication provider.
Without Twilio verification, your communications to prospect and residents via EliseAI are likely to be flagged as spam. Verification increases pickup rate and improves the prospect/resident experience.
Which EIN is needed?
In accordance with Twilio's best practices, the EIN of the parent organization must be provided – not the EIN of individual communities (if designated as separate entities).
Although the communications will be specific to a single community, Twilio's due diligence is conducted on the parent company. This due diligence is designed to mitigate the chances of an ISV providing services to clients who may engage in spamming or other fraudulent activities.
How will it be used?
Your EIN will be treated as confidential information and used solely for this registration. Once received, it will be included in the registration submission to Twilio to provision your account. Twilio will not use this EIN to bill your organization for anything.
