Sending Resident Announcements

You can use the EliseAI Portal to send announcements to your residents. Announcements are critical tool for sending residents general reminders, maintenance alerts, and updates on new amenities. 

You can send announcements to all your residents or to specific groups, such as tenants on a single floor.

Prerequisites 

To send a resident announcement, your community must be subscribed to at least one of EliseAI's ResidentAI products, such as Maintenance, Renewals, or Delinquency.

The announcements feature is available only to Organization Admins, Community Managers, and Resident Managers. See the AI Portal User Permissions article for more information on user permissions. 

 

Create an Announcement

Follow the steps below to create a new resident announcement. 

  1. Click Contacts in your AI Portal's left sidebar, then click Resident in the Contacts dropdown menu. 
  2. Click the Create Resident Announcement button in the top right corner. This launches the New Resident Announcement box. 01 New Resident Announcement.png
  3. Select the Communities tab to send your announcement to individual communities. Or, select the Community Group tab to send your announcement to an entire community group. 
  4. Write the subject line for your announcement in the Subject text box. 
  5. Select Communities in the Communities dropdown menu, or a Community Group in the Community Group dropdown menu. 
  6. Select SMS or Email in the Channel dropdown menu. 
    • NOTE: SMS works best for urgent alerts. Email works best for longer announcements and attachments. 
  7. Select residents to target in the Filters section. Filters include Resident Status, Last Active Status, and Lease Start Date. You can also filter residents by community-specific information like floor and sub building. This information is synced from your PMS 
  8. Write your announcement in the text box. For email announcements, you may enhance and spell-check your message with AI by clicking the Enhance button below the text box. 02 Text Box.png
  9. Optional: Save your announcement as a template for future use by clicking the Save as New Template button above the text box. 
  10. View the number of residents your announcement will reach in the Recipients section under the text box. 
  11. Click the Send Message button to send your announcement. 

View Past Announcements

You can visit your AI Portal's Reports > Campaigns page to view data and performance metrics on past announcements. See Understanding Your Reporting Dashboard - Campaigns for more information. 

You can also follow the steps below to view past announcements.

  1. Click Activity in your AI Portal's left sidebar.  
  2. Click Mass Messages in the Activity page's left sidebar. 
  3. Select or search for a community in the community dropdown menu at the top of the page. 03 Past Announcements Navig.png
  4. View information on the community's running announcements and completed announcements. 03 Past Announcements.png

Troubleshooting and Tips

  • Residents Not Receiving SMS Messages: A resident with an invalid phone number on file cannot receive any announcements though SMS. Use your AI Portal's Activity page to search for residents who did not receive SMS announcements. 
  • Grayed Out Create Resident Announcement Button: If you use EliseAI's Delinquency product, a grayed out announcement button means you must set up an inbox for non-delinquency communications. Contact Support to have this inbox created.
